Wow - over at Audsentiments there is a fabby candy just waiting for someone to win it!

Now - you know how it goes, pop over, follow, link it up and sit back with your fingers crossed!

Of course, now would be a great time to suggest that you join in our challenge this fortnight....it's to use the word LOVE!

Ok - now, pop on over to Audsentiments - I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Challenge Cards!

Both of these cards have images from designers that I really like!  So bearing this in mind, I wanted to make the image the focal point of the cards!

This is my first one with Lily of the Valley image on it.  I followed Dawns fabby sketch (which I found harder than I thought!!!) - hubby came in and found me a nice piece of green card from my stash!

Would also like to enter it into Crafty Sentiments Challenge this week - a birthday theme!!!  Have only just discovered the blog and there is a rather fabby digi freebie on there to check out!
And this is for a challenge over at Karen's Doodles.  I just love this image!  Makes me laugh everytime I see it!  And it colours up a dream!

The challenge was to include a tag!  I really hope I don't have occassion to use this particular card - well, not with that tag anyway!  Wow - just thought - you could make a few different cards, a few different tags and give them to someone as a kind of "pick and mix"!!!  That way they will always have the right sentiment to go with the right image!  OK - you read it here first...its my intellectual property!  LOLX

Well - time to go and do other things! Oooops pick up my child!!!

Busy week - ups and downs! And another challenge card!!!!

Oh boy!  Its been such a busy, fun week this week.  BUT I went to hospital this morning and they confirmed I am going to have to have my gallbladder out!  YUKKKK!  Still - its a nice easy op so thats good!

And just can't wait for tomorrow!  Busy Saturday morning (as usual!) and then in the afternoon a friend that I haven't seen in an age is coming over.  And then...we are going with another friend and some work colleagues to...Shakespeare in the park!  Now - have never been before, but its meant to be fabby!  Taming of the Shrew - need to go and find out the story NOW in case I dont understand it!  I did Shakespeare in school - loved it, but that was when I had the study guide and understood all the asides and how they related to that period of time.

And this card is for my friend!  She has had a tough time and I am so glad she is back on the scene!  Image is rather fabby Anya from the Greetings Farm - and I have followed their Farm Fresh Friday sketch - two sketches in one day!

And then - because it's for my friend, I would like to enter this in the Simon Says Challenge - which is "You Gotta Have Friends"

I have layered it up a little, with that and the glossy accents (think that's its name!) - oh and the buttons - I can enter it into ABC's Challenge which is to add Xtra dimension - did wonder what the "X" would be - had visions of triple X stuff all over everyone's blogs!

Finally, Sew Many Cards have an "Anything Goes" challenge - well it would be rude not to, wouldn't it!!!

And you can't really see it but I used that glossy stuff on her glasses - looks alot better "in the flesh!" - this means that I can enter it into Crafty Creations Challenge to "let it shine!"

Just Magnolia,Cute Card Thursday and Crafty Creations!

OK - two firsts for me today!!!  This is the first Magnolia I have ever coloured...and also, the first image I have coloured in grey!

Ok -would like to enter this into Just Magnolia's Challenge which was to follow a sketch!

Used wallpaper for the bottom layer - and a page from a magazine for the next layer up!   Hey - make do and mend!

Ooo and that makes it eligible for Cute Card Thursday's Challenge which is to Renew, Reuse, Recycle!

Not all that happy with it, but hey - cant always get everything right!

It was quite fun colouring just in grey - will probably have another go at this sometime soon...

I coloured all the leaves in with Sakura Tiara pens - but you just can't see the glitter at all - please take my word for it, because it means that I can also slot it into Crafty Creation's Challenge which was to add a bit of glitter - oh and used glossy gel Sakuras on the butterfly and tag too!

Well - pop over and take a look at everyone else's creations over at Just MagnoliaCute Cards Thursday and Crafty Creations if you have a few minutes!

Aud Sentiments - LOVE

Love is most definitely in the air over at AudSentiments today!  This challenge is to use the word LOVE on your sentiment - either as part of your sentiment (I used Young Love) or just use the word LOVE itself!

We are so lucky to be sponosred by Karen's Doodles for this challenge - and even luckier in that we got to choose an image (or 2!) to work with for our DT offerings!

Just couldn't refuse these two cuties.  How delightful are they?  And such a dream to colour!

OK - you know what you need to do....pop over to AudSentiments and join in - do check out the DT work while you are over there!

And then - pop over to Karens Doodles and drool over her images!

Passion for promarkers challenge

I saw this and thought I just had to enter it....Passion for Promarkers are calling for "My favourite things"...

Now, there are a few of my fave things on here -

  • My new Kenny K images - eeeee just love them!
  • Sparkly, dotty trainers - well, funky footwear in general!
  • Jewellery (see it in the background?)
  • My promarkers (of course)
  • My nestabilities (of course)
  • Chilling and watching the world go by
  • and....making something out of nothing!
Hmmm think I should explain the last one....all the background papers come from a rather glossy magazine that is produced where my hubby works!  He works in Burlington Arcade - which is a very posh shopping arcade in London - near Green Park.  All the doormen wear formal dress and you are not allowed to be scruffy, talk loudly, chew gum etc or you will be asked to leave the Arcade!  Needless to say, I don't visit too often!  SO - the papers came from the magazine and were part of a photo shoot to promote a jewellery shop in the arcade!  Which now means that I can add in "shopping" to my list of fave things!  LOLX

I really hope that I have met the criteria - the girls are toughening up (but hey - you gotta check out the DT stuff)!

Ooo and just discovered this also fits the criteria over on Totally Gorjuss - which is Sugar and Spice!  Go and check out the fab DT work!

Little something for the dinner lady!

We went to buy Josh's school dinner tickets this morning and he told me that the lovely lunch lady, who has made him soooo welcome in his new school, had a birthday last week (or possibly the week before!  LOL).

When Josh joined this school, he came from an independent (private) school which had 8 children in a year.  He was very much a big fish in a small pond!  He was constantly getting dmerits because he would chat and giggle (challenging authority was what it was called) - although his class teacher didnt have a problem with him!  Very long story cut short....we decided to move him - within a week at his new school we were asked to go and get him checked for ADD.  Despite us having asked the original school loads of times if this was a possibility!  I have since had parents come and say that they felt that Josh was being picked on by certain teachers.

Although Josh was said to be "challenging authority", all the teachers (from the original and current school) have said he was a kind, caring and polite child!

About a week or so after starting the new school, I went into the canteen to buy some lunch tickets and the lady (Lisa) said Hi to Josh, by name!  OK there are 120 children in each year - and 4 years in the school ...so of course, being a mum who doesnt have rose tinted glasses (!!!) I questioned how she knew him by name already...she replied that Josh is one of her quiet ones and is always so polite!

I am so sad about what Josh went through at his old school - the sneaking suspicions I had that Josh was being as "challenging" as they said etc - he is not an angel (what child is?) and I am not naive!  But we now realise that talking in the lunch hall, chatting during choir practice etc are not grounds for suspension (he was threatened with this!!!!) - in the state schools, if you are suspended you are violent or abusive!!!

Wow - thats turned out to be a bit of a long post!

Inside the card are 8 bookmarks - the tag reads "Colour you own disposable bookmarks" and they are just a variety of images printed onto card.

The sentiment reads "Elephants never forget...but we did!"

Think thats about it for now!

Gonna go and hug my boy now!

Kenny K's DT Call

Wow - just discovered there is a DT call for Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge Blog.  As is ever the wonder of the web, I had never heard or seen Kenny's images (found them via Bearly Mine) - now I have, I think I will be coming back to them again!

I decided to keep the card real simple - to show off the image - Download Diva!  Only little bit of bling are the little square jewels and some glitter and clear glaze on the ipod and belt loops!

Close up on the Diva!

And then, cos I liked it, thought I would make a little notepad to go with the card....excuse my fingers - it really was the only way to stop the blue front lifting and obscuring the pic for the camera!

And finally - the two together.....
Really hope I get picked.....but have seen the list of ladies going up for the positions - and wow, they are GOOD!  Best of luck to everyone!

ooooo - thanks so much to Lisa for the heads up - I would also like to enter this into Creative Cottage's Challenge to "take two" - that is, to produce a set!

Get thee to Hobbycraft - and an itty bitty candy!

Oh MY!  Hobbycraft have got 50% off their promarkers!!!  Yes really!!!  My local one was running out (so don't bother trying Romford!!!) but you might be lucky!  So these little goodies were £4.79 each!

Please dont tell me if you have found them cheaper - oh ok then - please do....but only if they are in UK - sure I could add to the collection!

And these are my other goodies - have to say that I only went in for the sticky things at the top right!!!

And I bought an extra pack for you!  OK - so they were under a fiver but hey.....better than a kick in the teeth.  I will also add in a little set of stamps and some sticky bits and bobs!

SO - this will run until 18th July - I am in a rush to get this up (so that you get the chance to get to Hobbycraft quick!) - so just go ahead and leave me a comment with a link back to your blog and I will come find you if your name comes up!  Please add a pic and a link back here (in your sidebar - wherever really!) just to promote the draw (come on people spread the love, its only a little pack!).  You dont have to become a follower - but everyone's welcome!

PLEASE - WHEN YOU LINK THIS CANDY, COULD YOU MAKE SURE THAT YOU USE JUST THE PIC OF THE SINGLE PACK - THAT (AND A FEW OTHER GOODIES) ARE THE CANDY - NOT EVERYTHING!!!

Fairy Bookmark

I needed a bookmark!  I have just started reading books for the book award we run - so much fun!  But I needed a bookmark - can't believe I have lost EVERY SINGLE ONE!  I know that I leave them in books I return to the library, so lets hope that someone else is enjoying using them!

I have to say a quick thankyou to Vicki (Scrap Junkie) who sent me over this image - saw it on her blog and just loved it so I asked her where it came from and she sent me a bunch of different fairies - all from colouring pages I think!

But isn't she beautiful?

This picture doesn't do the twinkly bits any justice at all (as ever)....there is mock stitching around the whole thing too!  Well, I guess if I tell you then you can peer closer (or not, as the fancy takes you!).  )h, and I thought the paper looked a little plain, so I got my sakura glazes out onto it!

I think that I can just about sneak this in for Sir Stampalot's Challenge which was to use a punch!  Honest....look at the bottom....yes, its tiny, but its there!!!  Ooooo - wonder if I can also claim the corner punch??????

AudSentiments - Hello Friend!

The Challenge on AudSentiments this week is to use the phrase "Hello Friend".  We were very lucky to be able to pick an image each from our sponsor Soft Pencil to play with - so I made a little set of goodies.

A little card....hmmmm, now what did I learn when I made this card?

Oh Yes - I learnt that, when you cut away the front of the card in just the way that I did, your card won't stand up!  LMBO!

Hence the little stand!

And then I made a notebook and bookmark to go with the card.

I had such a blast making these - just can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with!

OK - pop over to AudSentiments (link in sidebar!) and check out the other goodies the DT have come up with.

Little Boxes on the hillside.....

Ok - so they aren't on the hillside...they are on my kitchen counter!  When my son went away with the school, for a week, hubby and I went out on the town, caught a show, had a meal etc. On the way back from the show, we went through ChinaTown in London - and they had free Chinese newspapers to take....so I did!  Of course, then I needed to use them...and then the C.R.A.F.T peeps posted their challenge which was to use print!  YAY!

The boxes were ready made and part of a candy from yonks ago - thanks!  Its taken me a while to get round to using them - I still have 3 more to use!

So, I covered them in the newsprint, then inked them, then sealed them and did things on them!

One of them has glitter in the middle heart, one is plain glossy accents and the other is liquid pearls with flowers stuck in it!

I had a great, messy time doing these - will have to get on with the other 3 now!

Gorjuss Inspiration!

Haven't been able to find my mojo in days now!  It seems that, whenever I have a few days off, I find it sooo hard to get back to crafting!  So, I had a dig around for a couple of challenges to get me back in the mood!

Flowers are something I struggle with - well don't struggle, but just never consider doing them!  So, this is the image from Designed2delight and I had promised myself I would play along with their challenge this month! The bag with this one is that you join in with the first challenge, then get the next digi for the next week's challenge, then the next....etc

The sketch (oh boy, did I need a sketch!) came from Totally Gorjuss - so glad for that - and it was a great sketch to work with!

The papers were from Basic Grey - some of the yummy goodies from my Doodle Palace  candy.
